Karpacz is a charming tourist town lying at the foot of the Giant Mountains and their
\nhighest peak – \u015anie\u017cka (1603 MASL). The outstanding tourist values, attractions and
\nappropriate management of the town attracts over one million tourists per year. Not only
\nthe location of Karpacz is the major draw for visitors, it is also that famous ‘special
\nsomething’, which means the atmosphere of the place created by hospitable and active
\ninhabitants and tourists. The town offers perfect conditions for spending free time.
\nKarpacz is a place where plenty of attractions await the visitors to keep the entertained all
\nyear-round and regardless of the weather.
\nBefore you start sightseeing the Giant Mountains learn more about their legendary ruler,
\nthe Mountain Ghost. A modern interactive exhibition Mysteries of Giant
\nMountains (Karkonoskie Tajemnice) has been located in the city centre. The collection
\ncontains all incredibilities of the Giant Mountains (including the skeleton of the
\nMountain Ghost and the machine which can pull up mandrakes). All sports fans and those
\nwho want to learn more on the history of the region must visit the Museum of Sports and
\nTourism. We invite all fans of ski jumping and others to see the Ski Jumping Hill
\n‘Orlinek’. At present, during the summer it is a centre of extreme sports where you may
\ntry bungee jumping and experience Tyrolean traverse. The ski jumping hill is also a great
\nvantage point.<\/p>\n

\nWang Church, a unique Nordic sacral building made of wood and decorated in the same
\nway as Viking longships, is one of the best known and precious tourist attractions of
\nKarpacz. Visiting the Museum of Toys, which presents a 200-year old legacy of toy
\nindustry, will be valuable experience not only for children but also for their parents. There
\nare other attractions and things to do for children in Karpacz: Fairy Tales Park (Park
\nBajek), two Lego exhibitions and Sports and Leisure Centre (Centrum Rekreacji i
\nSportu) Kolorowa.
\nAfter sightseeing the city centre, it is a good idea to cool down and go for a walk to Wild
\nWaterfall (Dziki Wodospad), Dam on \u0141omnica River (Zapora na \u0141omnicy) or Raven
\nRocks (Krucze Ska\u0142y) shrouded in legend. Hiking enthusiasts may indulge themselves in
\nwalking around the Giant Mountains. There are 90 kilometers of sign-posted tourist<\/p>\n

\ntrails in Karpacz, which enable discovering one of the most precious natural area of our
\ncountry. Four mountain huts can be found along tourist trails providing tired hikers with
\nfood and shelter: \u201eDom \u015al\u0105ski\u201d, \u201eSamotnia\u201d, \u201eStrzecha Akademicka\u201d i \u201eNad \u0141omniczk\u0105\u201d.
\nWinter sports enthusiasts have numerous slopes and lifts at their disposal. There are also
\ntrails for cross-country skiing and ski touring. Children and those who crave for more
\nexcitements, ice rinks and snow-tubing tracks are waiting.
